Sounds like they're the colours for the Alan Mann racing Escorts.

Hadn't heard of them before, very similar perhaps the gold was a bit brighter than photos online and going down to the top of the flares.
I will try to get another look if it is around another day.

Hi
Re yesterday's posts, got some photos now.
It doesn't carry the same reg No as the Escort that raced as #16 and there is no sign of a roll cage but it does have 4 point harnesses.

This is the Cortina

and these were in the yard.

Fairly sure it is, 2 dr., razor edged square profile, can't think of anything else that's like it.

Yesterday, a really nice MG Montego turbo in Black with red trim. There can't be too many of those around.

While in the UK for 10 days many a classic, but a 1960's forward cab Renault van near Mersea with the plates taped out (Paris) and UK plates in the windows, plus an extremely tasty - and my dream too - Invicta Low Chassis in the Derbyshire Dales. But it was impressive how many classics I saw everywhere. Made me mad the E-type wasn't finished.

Nipped out in the 544 earlier today. Spotted a really nice ripple-bonnet 2CV, in a dark grey near-matt finish. On the A41 I was overtaken by a rapid E-Type Roadster.
