Greetings all. I wonder if anyone can advise me how to trace which vehicle/s use/d a CAV generator which I tripped over in the garage last night (it's been there for 33 years -but is much older than that - and I really should move it). Only discernible markings are: CAV - DB? - 76- 26722 - 12V - 9069 → .
Many thanks |

I have a friend with an Austin7 swallow with a CAV dynamo but they were fitted to an awful lot of things
I think you will need the full serial number _________________ www.OldFrenchCars.com

Thanks for your reply - 'fraid there are no numbers/ markings etc on the unit other than the ones I've quoted. Hey ho.
Perhaps someone knows the whereabouts of a CAV OE parts/application listing I could refer to? |

CAV were fairly commonly fitted to commercials as well but were usually 24v.. If its gear driven and the armature shaft provides a drive from the backplate it could be of interest but I wonder if the codes indicate a date of September 1969. What is the diameter and length? _________________ Jonathan Butler
