I wonder how often garages in the 60's had to "complete the job" when owners with no previous experience attempted their first engine rebuild !!

Nothing seems simpler than working on a moggy --my luck would find the reconset delivered not compatable with said engine !! stripped to find the crank undersize by 30 thou and 20thou oversize pistons ! scratch forehead and re-order --catching a bus to work for a week until correct parts arrive....can you imagine ordering a recon set for something like a 1980 toyota crown !! don`t think the owner would even attempt to open the bonnet...hehehe. |
