Has anyone any experience of this type of blasting media and how have you got on with it?

I have seen it being used to remove graffiti and on 2 cars locally. Soda is good in that it does not put much heat in to the panel and so warping is reduced but if you have rust, it will not remove anything more than slight surface rust.
The residue also protects the bare metal for a short time.

why soda blast a manifold?

the idea of soda is its kinder to materials, you could blast a manifold with pretty much any abrasive with no problem

Hi there,
I bought a small soda blast outfit from the guys who do all the classic car shows, MSB. I wanted it for car parts and also for my work with timber restoration and repairs. It was a bit too subtle and wasn't as effective as I had hoped with the soda and I have to say I have resorted to grit for most things. (I haven't cleaned any bodywork admittedly, just cast items and folded brackets etc. Good little bit of kit though and has proved very useful for cleaning small bits quickly, certainly beats drill and wire brush.

There is an article about this type of blasting in the Classic Motor Autojumbler this month.
I'll try and scan and post on here if you wish.
