Hi
I was speaking to a scap man on Friday, I know forbiden as it is, but I was buying steel for the pickup! A friendly scap yard too! I mentioned about a tub of door hinges I have, one I can't lift, he said bring them allong, steel is well over £100 a ton at the moment. Great, a bit of cash, or swap for some steel plate or bar maybe.
Anyway, wanted an angle bracket to day so decided to try my new welder out, weld a hinge up, to save me having to close the garage and go and get some brakets. I thought this welder isn't much cop, tried another one, same! I thought Great!!
Anyway I thought maybe the hinges needed cleaning up, so out came the grinder, and what do you know they were brass, and when I dug in witht he grinder, they were still brass. Wonder what brass is worth?
I just presumed they were steel, after them being ina drum, with other steel, so they were all rust coloured, anyway I might sort them out! So it wasn't the welder, which turned out to be great when I found some steel!
Cheers

That Ruddy Ford!
I put yet another Reg on her tonight, and I think this one will work, it isn't registring as charging, but my 6V battery is still reading 11V. I went out in the dark light on and it had dropped a Volt or two. Anyway driving up the main road realised I had only put the dip lights on as I haven't driven the truck in the dark for months!
I must have turned the knob the wrong way, so turned it the other way, cathing the key as I went and turned the ignition off! Of course then the fuel vapourised and I was stuck for a while, in pitch black, cars wizzing past, and look behind me and the house who I pulled up infront of, opened his curtain and continued to watch me, didn't offer me a torch or any help, just watched what I was up to.
Anyway, after a while she went!
Will have to have another play later in the week perhaps!
Cheers

Thanks Buzzy.
That film is incredible, I watched all five episodes of it... must find out what happened to them.

Hi
The Alchin engine on the saw is in Ireland, that is the only part of the films I know about.
Cheers and glad you like them too!

I have just spent an hour or so reading all 23 pages of this thread. All I can say buzzy bee you are some man. I never had that energy or enthusiam when I was young. Long may it continue. _________________ When I exhibit a car I get the Shudders. People queue up to tell me.

Hi
Cheers!
I was looking only yesterday how long this thread has got. It is a kind of diary of what I do! I like going back and finding what I have long forgotten.
Cheers again
