Howdy Gang,
When we got our '48 Thames van the wood was very rotten. We pulled out all the wooden parts and used them for a templates. There was NO floor in the back when we got it and guess that there was a wooden floor.

We made the new ribs out of Yellow Cedar (Cypress ) as it is a nice wood to work with and lasts a long time. I'm wondering how the rear floor looked--- would anybody happen to have a photo showing the rear floor.

I'm also thinking that the floor would have been made using shiplap.

What size were the floor boards?

thanks
hank

Ford used a sheet of marine ply for the floors of the 400E van so it is possible that the E93A floors used the same.

Hmmm not sure I have a photo of the rear flooring, do none of the factory brochures show the back end in them?

Hi
I'm still looking forward to seeing the rear floor on a e83w van
plywood sounds easy but we would like to rebuild the van with something that looks "stock"
thanks

Hey Hank,

There's a photo on this page of my E83W site which shows the rear wood floor, somewhere I might have the original pic but I probably won't turn it up straightaway!

Thanks for the photo Rick
If I'm seeing it correctly the rear floor looked like there are boards most likely made up from shiplap .
It was good to see the wooden "ribs" on the inside walls

that was a big help thanks again

Now I'm wondering if there are wooden stringers under the floor to support the floor boards.

Working on this Thames is like a 3D jigsaw puzzle- and we get to make the parts

thanks for the help
cheers

Hi

I would think there are struts sideways in something like ash, then boards on top, put surely just planed planks.

Cheers

Dave
