Last winter I removed the wheels from my 'cottage on wheels' caravan and left the van up on axle stands all winter long. The axle was used as the stands support. Is this the right thing to do or am I merely stressing out other components on the van? I ask because the axle beam looks so light and almost flimsy. |

As long as you support the caravan on the four corners as well, thats the ideal way to do it. _________________ I can resist anything except temptation ! ( Oscar Wilde)

Yes use the legs to balance the load. _________________ I can resist anything except temptation ! ( Oscar Wilde)

Well if it burns down, quickly put the wheels back on before the insurance man gets there to look at it , _________________ I can resist anything except temptation ! ( Oscar Wilde)

I will check my insurance policy but you would think it makes the caravan less likely to be pinched without wheels. |

] You can only do so much to stop thieving low life. I store the wheels in my house over winter. |
