|
|
Hello,
My friend and I came across a Triumph TR3 restoration project. We have a chassis number from the car but little else.
We would like to know if there is a list of chassis numbers on the web,to help identify this vehicle.
It has a standard rear axle to the rear,so I assume it is not a TR3a.
Any help appreciated.

I've copy and pasted to Club Triumph torque forum.
Might get an answer

Thank you for your help.
Looking on the websites I got all the information I required from an American website.
Checking the chassis numbers the car is an early 1954 TR2.
Very rust free and original. Just got the price to sort out now.

Hi Gresham
Got this answer back from a Triumph site.
Quote:
The Gaydon Heritage centre do not have the records.
Anything sidescreen they should get in touch with Bill Piggott via theTR Register. He has the build records of all TR2, 3 and 3a series. For a small fee he will issue a certificate and you get to know teh original coulours, the optional extras and where it was originally delivered to.
Cheers

I think you are confused with the TR4 and TR4A. TR4 has solid rear axle, 4A independent rear suspension. Except for some American examples (the US wanted live rear axles).
TR3 and TR3A all had solid rear axles.

Hello,
Yes you are right about the TR4 and TR4a,I got confused because the owner thought the car was a TR4,until I told him it was in fact a TR2.It stuck in my head somehow.
The car is in storage at the moment so I cannot tell any more about it.
