relisted due to a timewaster it says.
We were watching this first time round always makes me suspicious when it's relisted. Does the sink and cooker look right?
must admit we're very tempted! _________________ 1959 MK II Zephyr

Well i would say that this bluebird is a MK11 sunparlour with the deeper windows , approx 1961-3 and i feel no way is it 1954 thats when the MK1`s were out,Cushions are not original neither is the cooker and the sink, also the cooker and sink are positioned the wrong way round in the kitchen,Just wanted to air my views, _________________ All my favourite memories are in the past. |

Meant to say ..... I know of an original example that may be for sale. Never fitted with a stove and sink/cooker round the right way! Has a broken kitchen window and light water staining. Easy restoration. Original Blue/white.
Perished tyres but otherwise towable. |

I lived in a Bluebird similar to this back in the early 60's and it had a Courtier stove and a hot (warm anyway) water tank in the cupboard above the fire which was heated by the flue passsing up through it. _________________ Bristols should always come in pairs.

WE HAD ONE OF THESE AT CHAPEL ST LEONARDS IN THE MID SIXTIES.
THE KITCHEN WAS AS YOU ENTERED THE DOOR,IT HAD A STOVE ON THE LEFT HAND SIDE AS YOU WALKED INTO THE SITTING AREA,A FOLD DOWN DOUBLE BED,A PARTITION AND SEATING AT THE END WHERE US CHILDREN WOULD SLEEP. OH HAPPY DAYS.
I SAW ONE AT A SHOW LAST YEAR AND MEMORIES FLOODED BACK.

They are very nice roomy vans. The stoves must have been optional.
The one I have seen never had road lights. Is that normal too? |

Before 1956 road lights on caravans were not compulsary by law, you only needed to light the number plate. After that date caravans had to have the full set up, brake, side lights and reflectors. _________________ I can resist anything except temptation ! ( Oscar Wilde)

The in-laws first caravan was similar but larger and permanently on a holiday site in the early 70s; I too would reckon it to be an early 60s model. I'm not sure about the cooker, it looks modern, but the fire ran on coal not wood. I'm very wary of advertiser throwing random and mis-leading keywords at their listings; didn't gypsies have ornate Vickers and Westmoreland Star caravans in those days? On the other hand I would be willing to take small wagers on whether burning wood on a coal-burning stove or the 'jockey wheel' short-circuiting between its terminals would send it to a fiery grave before the listing has run its course

We were lucky enough to have had this one on display at Belvoir a couple of years back, and again at the Record attempt at Stapleford back in 2010. it hasn't moved a wheel in the last 16 mths its just gathering moss in the owners driveway _________________ Nobody saw me do it, you can't prove a thing!! |
