Hello,
I'm a new member and relatively new to the classic car world - only about 5 years now. My first project was an Austin 7 Special and now I'm starting another project which should be a bit more scary.
I've always wanted to build an aero-engined special but that will remain out of reach financially so, I've found a derelict 1926 Hillman 14 rolling chassis and I'm putting a 1950's Morris Six engine and gearbox in it (6 cylinder OHC). The body will be traditionally constructed in roadster style.
I expect I'll have a few questions along the way and look forward to your opinions and advice.
Nigel

Click on the above photograph and go to photograph 39 and then up to photograph 89 shows the superb quality of this special.

Congratulations on a wonderful piece of work.

Welcome Nigel

So now I know what it is.
Saw it at Rougham in 2009

Thanks for your compliments and a very flattering shot of the back of my head - that spot is a little bit shinier than it was in 2009!

Resized

I hate it when one has to keep scrolling across screen, or go next door, to read the post.
Can't be bothered with the posts if it takes up twice the width of the screen.
Just idleness on the posters part

No, the engine is a standard 3 bearing unit but with an SU, a trials cam and a non-standard exhaust. It sounds brilliant - at least 50 mph faster than it's going, but there are no fancy valves or polished ports.
