My club wants to buy some flooring (carpet, carpet tiles or similar) for use at the indoor shows we have club stands at. What's the best thing to use - exhibition carpet and dump it after each show, carpet tiles or whatever??

Our stands vary in size from show to show so carpet tiles seem to be worth considering - your ideas and opinions appreciated.

We dont do inner shows but would you not be better with a big roll of rubber mat which would be easily cleaned if something spilled on it. And how would you get it to your show.

Hi

I know of people using the exhibition carpet, but it takes hell of a triler to transport it without folding it, if you do fold it it looks dreadfull, as the folds remain in it, then it gets a stain on it, which then ruins it all, I would go for carpet tiles personally, but dependant on the size needed to be covered it could get costly, at least some of them are designed to be lifted and steam cleaned, and if you buy some spare ones at the purchase time, (a good idea as knowing my luck they wil discontinue the range after I buy them), you can replace the bad ones.

Cheers

Dave

Carpet tiles

A few years ago I was with a company that set up show stands.
Nearly alway used tiles, easier to store and clean.
Only drawback? a 'rug/carpet' can be thrown down, tiles are better if there is a 'Thresh Hold' to hold them in place, not too much of a problem with a raised platform, not so easy on a concrete floor.

Tiles, the better ones, can be cleaned with a domestic pressure washer.
I had the kitchen tiled with them, any spillage, the tile was lifted, pressure washed, or if needed hot soapy water then blown off, almost as good as new.
And an 18 inch square is cheaper to replace than a whole 'floor'.

As roger says, carpet tiles every time. In my working life I did lots of indoor shows & tiles were the answer -- double sided tape on the outer ones& all was fine, cheers,JD.

Flotex carpeting or carpet tiles are commonly used in car showrooms.
