Rick, I've just been reading your latest update. It's not a problem I've had myself, but the trouble you're describing sounds to me like the hassles I've heard of other people - with all sorts of petrol engines - having with dodgy aftermarket rotor arms that become conductive when warm. I'm not sure how long they've been around, but is it maybe possible that one of these could have crept in somewhere along the line?
