Just in case anyone is interested, the above carries a feature in their Engine Autopsy" series about the Twin Cylinder Jowett Engine fitted to my Bradford. I assisted in its compilation.

I too found the term rather odd. However there are several "net references.

e.g http://www.motorweek.org/features/goss_garage/engine_autopsy

perhaps we are just divided by a common language
