|
|
I have just added some more photo`s onto the last topic showing the car after the painting in the workshop.
Now I have it put the car back together and have some on the road photo`s.
Eagle eyed people might notice the window wipers were not fitted,I misplaced the shrouds and securing nuts at the time of the photo.
Also the rear aerial has now been fitted.
We decided on Silver Fox for the final colour,I think it gives the car a clean look.
The paintwork finish is superb the panels are razor sharp and very straight, the panel fit and door gaps spot on,I think we have finished the paintwork to concourse spec.
A lot of time was spent on the preparation.
It was finished in Lesonol 2K base coat and laquer.
The wheels by design are a long tedious job to prepare and mask up,but the finished result is worth it.
After all the effort you do not want to give them to a butcher type tyre fitter.!!!!
A one owner car until we purchased it from the family about one year ago.
The interior is as new.
He would carry out all the maintenance on the car himself,it was his pride and joy..we only had it painted because the original paint had lost its shine and body after all those years.
Another Classic Ford saved for the future.
Gresham Flyer
I might be tempted to sell it ...another project waits in the wings.

nice car .my great uncle had a 1600E in the seventies in silver fox .he had it into the eightys ,he was in his seventies too, but it looked like new when he sold it. and my uncle had a light blue mk2 cortina estate in the seventies too that was a good motor and could carry quite a bit of gear in the back as i recall. |

That is beautiful!
Very well done, congratulations - the 1600E is one of my all time favourite cars.

Perfect example of something I said in another post about, oily rag, or renovation. This is why people bought them new, and why even used they were sought after. Luxury workingman's car.
Thanks for posting. |
