Hi all. New member here. I've got a few old cars and have recently bought a Bean 14hp open tourer which is a non-runner.
I have just joined the Bean Car Club so plan to get involved in that, but my big problem at the moment is that I need a starter motor. I am guessing that the starter may well be common to other cars of the period, and I wonder if anyone would know what the starter motor is, and how/where I could locate one (clearly I will ask the same question of the Bean Car Club).
All help would be very much appreciated. Thank you. Geoff |

Hi Geoff & welcome
A Bean is a bit different , there are folk on this forum who have to shovel coal into their vehicles, right up to more modern stuff, normally someone can help
Cheers

Hi Geoff,
Welcome to the forum.
I think your Bean uses a Smiths starter motor but further than that I've no knowledge but hope that you'll keep us up to date with your progress. Lots of pictures would be nice.

Hi Geoff,
It looks superb. I hope you just clean it and sort the mechanicals but preserve all that lovely patina.

No problem. Yes, the plan is to leave everything "as is" as much as possible. It's so much more interesting that way! Regards |
