The Beverley?
Kuching Borneo 1964,
Beverly, Argos and Hastings were the regular transport between Borneo and Singapore.
I think I posted the photo with some others on the aviation forum.
I'll check.
We were only a couple of hundred yards of the side of the runway with the Anti aircraft 40L70's and the Radar. |
Like these Roger?
Or this one with a faulty altimeter?

Hi JD
What is the trike undercart plane to the right of the Beverley in pic 2?
Is it USAF?
You might like to put some up in the Historic Aviation section if you have more. _________________ Bristols should always come in pairs.

Hi Penman, sorry we seem to be off topic on here - I'll leave it to Rick to shift them. I think the camera has for-shortened the view & there are other aircraft in between the Beverley & the one you are looking at. My guess is it's one of these(maybe even the same one)
a Handley Page Victor but with it's (sand) storm covers on the pitot head & screen.
Cheers,JD. _________________ 1958 Ford Zephyr Mk2 Convertible

Thanks, that was the name I thought but Googling the name only found the later C17.
Would have been easy to find if I had remembered the number.
Strange that they have reused the name. _________________ Bristols should always come in pairs.

Yes Roger,RAF Khormaksar R & R in the barren rocks - what fun
Even though on leave still got volunteered for chopper crew on SAR
hence the picture of the Beverley wing. We found it but the Jinglies were already there. The other two Beverley pics were at Salalah. Cheers,JD. _________________ 1958 Ford Zephyr Mk2 Convertible
