Hi all, our Nova, Norman, has been misfiring/low on power, for a few weeks now. he's only done 44000 miles.
he is fine when cold, and starts ok at cold or warm/hot.
but once warm, at low revs on pull away, he misfires off a cylinder (sounds like), and lacks power till the revs get higher and he picks up again.
Heater doesnt get particularly hot, so have a new thermostat and water pump to go on, but i understand its a cambelt related job, so havent fitted them yet. Temp gauge normally runs at just over the blue bit, when he gets warmer, he gets worse at the jumpy thing.
All water pipes get hot once engines been run, so happy there are no blockages in the system.
i have fitted new HT leads, dizzy cap and rotor arm. Checked air filter which is clean. and spark plugs are only 2000 miles/6 months old.
So my thoughts are its a temperature issue, lambda sensor? thermostat? or maybe a rubber hose under the air filter assembly has split (havent had chance to check yet).
just wondering if anyone has had this trouble before with the Vauxhall 1.4i engine. guess its the same one as would be in an Astra.
any thoughts or further questions, would be appreciated.
many thanks, marty. _________________ Goose
