The Catalina was down near us last weekend, doing a show down at Dunkerswell near Honiton in Devon. |

Hi
Amphibian, Amphibious Flying Boat, or Flying Boat would be acceptable descriptions.
But surely Seaplane is not?
I always associate seaplane with Floatplanes, aircraft which sit on separate floats.

Having checked Google I now know that my view above is because I am British.
Quote: | The term "seaplane" is used by some instead of "floatplane". This is the standard British usage.[1][3] This article treats both flying boats[4] and floatplanes[5] as types of seaplane,[6] in the US fashion. |

I was in Alton in Hampshire today, a Catalina flew over, also saw the Battle of Britain flight and a Tiger Moth. I think they all did a flypast at Car Fest which was about 20 miles down the road |
