Hello everybody, my truck will be a "classic" in three years' time.
To me, anyway!
I'm looking for some parts at the moment for it's MOT, I need a drag link complete, or just the 14 inch long 3'4er inch thick rod with the threads on it.
I also need a new or good secondhand steering universal joint that goes between the steering column and the steering box.
Can anyone help?
I've signed up with three companies that have contacts with three hundred scrapyards, I got to Beaulieu autojumble twice a year as an exhibitor and I've been looking on feebay for years and also contacted all my local auto factors, some just laugh!
Is there anything that I haven't tried yet? Please? David.

Hello, sorry if I've broken any rules, but I'm getting desperate to find parts to keep my vehicle on the road, my mobile is 07999596748 or land line is 01280 705057.
Are the ads at the bottom of the page sponsors or what?
I don't understand how a part request can be seen as an advertisement though still, please demonstrate?
Or do you mean possible suppliers names etc?
David.

Hi David

Car Transplants in Nantwich are breaking a Sherpa, saw it in their yard the other day.

Hello Dave. thanks for the tip, I rang them at 5.20 as soon as I came in and the young lady didn't know what a "sherka" was! Where's the car made?

Well, about 5 minutes later it transpires that you may have been looking at their tyre transport vehicle, not for sale!
I still thank you for taking the time and trouble to try helping me out, cheers, David.

I wonder if the front steering and suspension is the same as later LDV Pilots. Plenty of ex Royal Mail ones being broken. I've put your request on Autoshite, someone over there might be able to help Smile

Was there any/much carry-over of parts from the Austin/Morris J4 or JU250 to the Sherpa I wonder?

RJ

Hello, thanks for the reply, I have a J type manual and the drag link looks completely different to me, it's only a drawing of course, no scale mentuioned or anything in that to give an idea of length or size or type of threads etc.

Good news is that I've found a new drag link for £14-76 in Wales plus vat and postage and vat on postage...
All I need now is two new ends for the link, the UJ and a tracking rod end that the MOT man missed...
