I thought I'd do a bit of an update. The main body is epoxy primed and I'm working my way through the wings, bonnet and doors stripping paint and de-rusting. I have a bit of one wing and the doors to go. Grinding paint off is really laborious and incredibly messy, but I'm getting there. I've just done the first pass on the wings and bonnet, I need to go through and get the deep rust out. Fiddly but I don't end up covered in dust.
These have come out a funny colour in the picture, but they are cleaned up and sitting in a layer of phosphoric acid.
This was what the body was like when I scraped the paint off, so I am making it look better thank goodness
Does anyone have any smart ideas to fix this window?
The other side was repaired before I got the car and has a strip of metal neatly riveted along the lower edge. I'm not sure this one has enough to rivet to. I can't see how to get the glass out. There must be some whizzy modern goo that will do the job. |

Hi
If that is the outside face of the window, what does the inside face look like?
I would think it should have a removeable strip along one of the straight edges, otherwise it would have had to be welded up with the glass in place and that would seem to be a no-no, welding heat and glass wouldn't mix would they? _________________ Bristols should always come in pairs.

Quote: | Wow that's a lot of progress | It is, I'm pleased I have some original pictures so I can see what I've done so far. Still quite a way to go. I've been lucky with the weather, it's been quite mild. My heating in the garage is an Aladdinette paraffin heater, works well but up to an arctic vortex |
