Afternoon all,
As my electrical wizardry can be described as hopeless at best, I would like to ask for some advice if I may.
I have just bought an old Radiomobile 1095X which of course was only intended to power one speaker, one positive lead, one negative lead. If I'm fitting a pair of speakers to it, I am wondering if I attach the 2 positive wires, one from each speaker, to the single positive wire from the system and likewise for the negative set? _________________ Regards,

Depends on the speakers impedance. The Radiomobile usually has 1 x 8 ohms so 2 8's connected in series will give 16 Ohms which will reduce volume.
If connected in parallel then 2 8's = 4 Ohms which may be too little and overload the amplifier though these radios are quite tolerant.
2 x 4 Ohms speakers in series via a balance control is better than 2 x 4 in parallel I think but radio experts will definitely know for sure.
Both must be equal though.
Most modern speakers are 4 Ohms _________________ Rover P2

Rovers eg P5B's of the late 1960's & early 1970's had the Radiomobile 1095X which powered easily a front and large rear speaker via a double gang fader on the rear heater control panel on the transmission.
The tone and volume is excellent with the rear speaker full on and the front just down _________________ Rover P2

All installed now! I went for connecting them in series with the 2 speakers, one in either door without a balance control. My thanks go Phil for his help and advice.
