I've been doing a spot of planning with regard to show attendances this year.

Are you planning to attend the same events as in 2013, or try something new? either a new venue, or maybe a new type of event.

I keep intending to do some different ones, but then end up at the same old places. I was adamant that I wasn't going to do Arley Hall this year (poor venue, nothing to do all day, lousy attendance) but I probably will, along with the usual others. I have got a couple of special ones for the 40th anniversary of the launch of the HP Firenza, but apart from that I'll probably be on autopilot again.

Hoping to get to a few of the traditional Essex shows over July and August, and the Austin Counties Car Club Annual rally in June (surprisingly I've never been before), apart from that I'm open to suggestions.

Will also be going on the Young Guns Classics roadtrip around Wales (in the Somerset hopefully) and possibly some shows in Kent, as I'm based there term time now.

We try new ones all the time.

Variety is the spice of life.

Think out of the box when looking for somewhere to go.

We have had a great time at village, country house, heritage museum, steam railway, heritage airfields, etc open day`s.

The Silverstone Classic is one of my favourite events.

East Kirkby the home of one of the Lancasters is a great place to visit, especially when they taxi the old girl past the display area.

Stamford Classic Car Show in the centre of the town is good for people who like to wander around this historic town when they have seen enough of cars all morning.

A grass field full of the same make of cars just does not do it for me.

I like a good mixture of vehicles.

Small is sometimes more interesting and friendly than the huge events.

I also like the Stamford show GF, with it's eclectic mix of cars. I haven't been for the last couple of years as my friend in Stamford passed away, but I was giving it some thought for this year, cheers,JD.

A small BUT perfectly formed leafer only show for lovers of classic Landrovers, held over the August bank holiday weekend at the National Coal mining museum at Overton near to Wakefield.
The show is organised by ourselves and all proceeds( including a small entrance fee for exhibitors) go towards helping the NCM Continue to educate folks about our industrial heritage.

There is usually a cracking selection of various classic Landrovers (none of that nasty coil spring stuff though) of all sorts both shiny and well used and loved.
Plenty for the family to do including depending 80 meters down a Coal mine... Train rides meeting the pit ponies AND usually a craft fair to enjoy too.

Find us on Facebook https://m.facebook.com/groups/238774946200507?ref=bookmark
(OR just search for LEAFERS on there)

OR IF you've any questions, please feel free to ask away.
