Try using my cleaner recipe with a scotchbrite, that would work well too..

This is the front panel of the seat after stripping back to the leather,working in the dye then giving a couple of very light spray coats.I'm leaving it for a day or so before coating again. The letaher is now nice and soft and smooth. So far I'm pleased.

This is the seat after the first coat had been sprayed (very lightly) It now feels much softer and considering the bad state is was in and it is over forty years old I think it looks quite good.This is the first time I've tried working with leather.
