Hello There.
Im Gary, i live in North Wales and am restoring a 1974 NSU Ro80. Wanted one for years.
The car i have is a tired runner. It requires a full body and mechanical restoration having been dry stored for 20 years. The car is rusty in most of the usual areas - but not too far gone.
I am gobsmacked by how easily this car disassembles... its as tho the car is designed to be taken to bits. The engine seems to scare people off, but its actually a very simple design, and by rebuilding it with Mazda tech - i should finish up with a reliable car..... tho the fuel consumption will still be poor....so maybe LPG it too. |

Nice car, I've only ever seen one over here, always parked on the street and in everyday use. Its looking a bit sad these days though. Its in a very 70s shade of mustardy yellow!
I think it suits it! |

Welcome Gary. As Jens stated a very futuristic car for their time. Didn't they eventually get swallowed up VAG?

Now we have a rule on this site - photographs. Please post some up of the work that you are doing. _________________ Keep Torqueing,

Yes Tony, NSU was bought by VW just after they had developed the K70
This was given VW badges, and sold as a VW product.
