While I wasn't on here I've done allot of car work... this is one of them...
Belgians used to build cars... and quit good ones... named Minerva...
When the first world war came we acted quick and converted 34 minerva cars to armoured cars... actualy the first armoured cars ever build...
The germans had no answer for it and where afraid of it... it had a hotchkiss machine gun on board...
But when in 1915 the tranches came the car was no use... so they drove to russia and fought there... until 1917 when the russian revolutian came... the distroyed allot of cars there cause they didn't want to let them go in the hands of the bloshjevistics..
So a few of them went true mongolia to America where they ended up in new york...
Sadly non of this original cars is still excisting...
So after some joking etc we tought how cool would it be to make a replica...
So we did....
Home made wheel conversion hubs...
Almost there...
Yes yes yes the day of the truth... our first test drive was infront of the camara's of the news :p
Then our own Belgian king and queen proofed it!
even the prime minister...
Time for some ivents!
And we even started to gow moustages :p
Here I was cyclist..
Some foto editing...
we almost looked real :p
And first world war selfie
And some christmas markeds... christmas truce!
I hope you enjoyed.. |

That's fantastic, and it made me think of my late father, he left school at 14 to serve his time as an apprentice at a Rolls Royce, Daimler, and Minerva Garage in the early 1930's. After the war he eventually became a regional Operations Manager for Petrofina U.K., a Belgian company, so things sort of became a full circle for him, he would haved loved your armoured car. Thank you for sharing. |

The idea was a brilliant one. The development of the car really clever and interesting, and the result magnificent.
Congratulations on creating a replica that will enhance understanding of the war period, for many years to come. _________________ Dane- roverdriver but not a Viking. |

Well done, what a huge project, glad I'm not the only one that doesn't understands NO. I have a friend that's been given the task of restoring a Cabriolet 3 position Drophead 155" wheel base and will be approx. 3 Ton when finished similar to the one here. _________________ Tom~~~~~~~~~ Follow the Dream |
