hi there ive herd word that there is a conversion kit for sealed oil canister type filters , as the one on my 1937 Vauxhall 14 is a sealed unit that is design to be discarded after 10,000 and is no longer available, i wondered could it be replaced with something else that took a modern oil filter??? anyone have any ideas? |

The A40 Devon and Somerset, and upright Ford 10s if fitted, have the same filter as the Vauxhall 12/14 (certainly the same as was fitted to my 40s Bedford ute anyway). Years ago I bought a converter for the Somerset, to enable cheapo modern spin-on canister filters to be used. It came from an autojumble I think, of modern manufacture.
It may be worth investigating such conversions on Ford Pops and A40s, to see what's out there that could be adapted to suit the Vauxhall.
