does anybody know if you can recondition a vw t2 steering box ive been offered a t2 camper for £200.00 but it is comleatly rusted .the body work is not a problem .but ive been told you cannot recon the steering is this correct.with thanks wayne |

i had a steering box reconditioned by Andrew Page last year as there was not a cost effective part available.
From memory it was about £150, but most good factors ususally have a list of suppliers to get parts difficult parts reconditioned.
VW also supply heritage parts and you can get some internal parts from them. vwheritage.com

I think the same VW steering box is fitted by MG-T owners, as it's a better version of the "bishops cam" that was originally fitted ?
