Hi, having taken my carb apart for an inspection, I have found it is fitted with an EK needle. Burlen specify a BD and I wondered if there was a reason for the EK needle ( maybe a common change?) or do I just have the wrong needle?
I tried Burlen for a replacement but they said not in stock for 8-9 weeks!
Would it be rude to ask if anyone has a spare they would sell me? _________________ North Essex,UK - Morris 8 tourer 1936 - Jaguar x350 |

I found DB Carbs in the Old Cattle Market in Nottingham held a good stock.
But a question, different needles were fitted to differing markets destinations, i.e., hotter, colder etc. It may be yours just has an replacement needle. Is there a problem with it, does it run ok? maybe you are repairing something that isn't broken!

EK is the standard needle for the Series E, so are you sure you have the right carburettor (presuming your engine is type UB 1934-38 Eight)?
Quite a few pre-E Eights have been converted to either a Series E motor (USHM) or the military ("tank") engine. If yours is one of these it will most likely have a Series E carb with 1 1/8" choke, as opposed to the 1" choke of the earlier cars' carbs.
