Under bonnet blanket.
I know you can buy one of these for seventy quid or so,but wheres the fun in that?. I bought a heavy black cotton king size bed sheet and some fire resistant wadding. The wadding is fitted inside the two pieces of sheet sewn and turned inside out and after making sure the thing fitted it was removed and the cotton soaked in a Boric acid/Borax solution to make it fire resistant. I've soaked some off cuts and I'll be testing them with a lighter before fitting,I've got some wire to make the blanket supports with.

The anti roll bar bushes had softened after spending years soaked in oil. The correct bushes are obtainable (although judging by ebay prices they are made of some semi-precious metal compound). I found with a few very minor modifications that heavy duty land rover rubbers fit and seem of far better quality than the originals.
