Some people on the Forum will know that I am obsessed by Fiat 500's and my Austin 10, which I have owned since 1992 has been neglected for several years.
It runs and is taxed and insured but not MOT'd as it is exempt. (Would fail anyway!)
I am just chancing it on Ebay because I need a bit of a clearout so the link is here.

Thanks for the condolences both. Sad Sad Sad
I will be sort of sad even if I score higher than expected financially. It's not the money I need, it's the space, both physically and in my head.
I rarely get out in it and that makes no sense to me.
Also it deserves to have a lot of things done to make it into an absolute stunner and I don't have the time.
As for the Fiat 500, well that's adifferent matter... Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

That would be up to Rick. Rolling Eyes

By co-incidence, (I think), I had an enquiry if it was for sale when I was just setting off to the petrol station from someone driving by the house today. Seemed like I could have sold it for cash on the spot! Maybe not enough cash though.
I also had an acquaintance from the past , who recognised it on Ebay, and searched the internet for me and phoned to encourage me not to sell it. He was one of the few people, pre-internet, who knew just what I put into the car. A very genuine gent with several classics of his own which all need work.
It's a very strange hobby this...so easy to pick up a basket case and so hard to let go again. Rolling Eyes

Thanks Steve. You seemed to get your own last project sold fairly promptly and trouble-free. I have worded everything to be very open about the condition of the car and made the conditions for purchase equally clear.
The last two vehicles I sold have both involved some prevarication by the buyers at the point of purchase. Drives me mad!

Good luck, shame to have to sell but that's the way it goes doesn't it. Hope it goes smoothly on ebay.

Lovely car! I really, REALLY hope that it does not get bought simply for its number.
Good luck!

I'm starting to wonder about that Paul.
I was in a dilemma because the number alone could be worth a fair bit but I didn't want to be the one to separate it from the car.
I am starting to have second thoughts. Obviously, I always knew it was a sought after car, but from 99p to nearly £4000 in two days with over 250 "watchers" is quite a pace.
I do seem to be getting a lot of indicators from genuine folk that I shouldn't be seling it.
Damn!. Confused

It's hard to read these things sometimes, isn't it!? Often there's interest early on, then a lull for a few days, with (ideally) a further blip of bids in the final half hour or so.

I also have experience with parting with 'an old friend', but look on the other side, it introduces the pleasure of vintage motoring to another user, and whilst the concept of owning more than two or three vehicles is attractive, how many can you use at once, and by spreading them around, increases the size of the ownership and therefore usage.
The Fiat's look great fun, stick with it!
