Hello folks,
Wonder if anyone can help. I have a problem with my current ignition switch and have bought a new one, problem is the terminal codes on the back are all different on both.
The old one maybe a Bosch but can't be certain, the five pins have the following markings by them, BAT30, R/GA, 54, 15 and 50.

The new switch hAs 1,2,3 & 4 and SA.

My question is can I use this new switch and if so which of the above codes corresponds with the new switch codes ??

Help appreciated.
Cheers
Craig

Craig,

I can't help you with the new switch but here is the Bosch terminal designating numbers:- http://www.autoelectricsupplies.co.uk/cms/files/bosch_terminal_designations.pdf

Wasn't there any paperwork with the new switch?

Thanks Art but I already know what the Bosch markings are for because that's what's been removed, I need to know what the new switch markings are, I think it's a Lucas replacement style, common on many old cars, but I need to know what wires go to 1,2,3 &4 terminals

Cheers
Craig

PS before anyone asks, my car is a 1949 ford prefect, BUT, has an Essex V6 so that don't really help either ha ha!

Craig,

I bought a generic switch so that I could move my old Jag about. I'll have a look tomorrow and report back.

Any help?

Has the assignments under the picture. SA is marked on the switch too, although not mentioned in the dialogue.
