I can only think they must have cut the original block open. They used lasers but I thought that would only give an external measurement. Perhaps it is possible to scan cast iron in 3 D these days? I really don't know.
Maybe the original Delage drawings still survive?. Again, I don't know.
Personally I would have taken it to 'Stitchweld' in Burton who do such things. They did a marvellous job on my Dodge and at a reasonable price. |
