As just created in the motorcycle category, this thread is just for odd car pictures that I/we like that don't necessarily fit into existing threads. Maybe they were taken at shows, or in the garage at home, whatever, so long as the subject is old then they'll fit in here fine.

These from a rainy show eight years ago.

1947 Healey Woodie, originally owned by Riley racer Hector Dobbs, one of seventeen built. Seen here in 2008.

Photographed in the Tallahassee Motor Museum, a definite one-off Ford made at Dagenham.

As you might expect I liked the Airflow and the Hudson, but that Continental kit on the '59 Caddy just doesn't work.

It looks like a Model A but the wheels and a few other details don't look right. Could it be a locally assembled car?

It may well be V8 locally assembled, however during my trip I discovered Indians aren't adverse to 'improving' or replacing worn out parts with anything that fits and does the job.

One of the surprising elements of industry was when we were on the way from Jiapur to Delhi were the rows of road side businesses that took old single-deck buses, completely stripping them down to the bare chassis and then rebuilding a brand new body onto them. There were swarms of men clambering all over it either fitting the upholstery, fitting the new frame, cladding the frame with aluminium panels, glazing fitters, paint undercoaters, I could go on and all this was going on barely 10 feet from the motorway edge, which had no safety barriers or hard shoulders.

Never seen one of those before BigJohn, very handy.

Superb photos as always RH, the name of the US car escapes me but I only saw a photo of something similar this afternoon in a book.

The bottom one is a '39 Plymouth, I can't make out enough detail on the top one, but it could be a Dodge
