That brought a little tear to my eye as memories came flooding back. My Mum used to drive one of those and she loved it. They are strange cars to drive. Once you get it up to speed you make it go faster by lifting off the throttle! I found it counter intuitive but you do get used to it after a while. |

A wonderful car from times when cars could be different, and car makers were not afraid to produce cars that were different.
Examples - a two cylinder air cooled engine combined with the variomatic drive. Or from the same period the various rear-engined cars. Or flamboyant lovely (impractical but who cares) designs like the E-type. A Corvair with rear 6 cylinder air cooled engine.
The modern motor industry regrettably does not provide such "different" cars. _________________ a car stops being fun when it becomes an investment |

I totally agree. Unfortunately when it comes to new cars, the days when individuality could be affordable have gone. Thankfully, there are still interesting classic cars about for us enthusiasts to enjoy. |
