Morning all,

I know little about vintage Renaults, but this looks like a great find. The overall look, condition, and especially the time-worn interior, appeal to me a lot. There's a chopped about '26 Renault pickup on ebay at the mo for less than half the price of this one, but the vehicle shown below has character in spades unlike the other I reckon.

Does it really weigh 3 ton?

I suspect those seats are later replacements - they look far too luxurious for a commercial! As for weighing 3 ton(ne)s, I very much doubt it; a large formal-bodied Rolls Royce Phantom 3 from the late 1930s might be just about 3 tons, but an early '20s light commercial of 1340cc is more likely to be around 1 ton... and even then the poor little engine would be struggling!

Edit: A quick search would suggest this is probably a mid-1920s 10CV. I can't find much info on the 10CV, but the KZ from the same period with a 2-litre engine typically weighs around 1300kg, and in commercial form has a payload of 600kg, so even a fully laden 2-litre 'only' weighs 2 tonnes!
