|
|
Running an old laptop I find that Chrome is incompatible with XP and Firefox is too heavy for my meagre RAM so I changed to the last Opera browser revision that runs on XP.
Unfortunately this browser fails to show images from some sources however I have now found that some clever fellow has a fix that works.
Quote: | Other users of various versions of Opera (12.17 for me at my job) may have noticed that a LOT of pictures simply fail to load on various sites. This results in that annoying clear box that shows a picture's supposed to be there, but refuses to display (happens a lot for signatures and avatars from photobucket, for example). I finally found a fix for this.
Type "opera:config" without quotes in the URL bar.
Scroll down to the "Network" pane.
In the text field next to "HTTP Accept" copy and paste the thing below (every bit of it, including the last "/"):
image/gif, image/jpeg, image/pjpeg, application/x-ms-application, application/vnd.ms-xpsdocument, application/xaml+xml, application/x-ms-xbap, application/x-shockwave-flash, /
Click save at the bottom of the "Network" pane.
Close and Open (aka restart) Opera.
