Thanks d4b just had a good read and it appears that it does need to pass 4.5% co2 not sure how easy that is on an old vehicle. But other things don't look so bad. _________________ Volvo Sugga ,Volvo Trygge

I don't think so, when my 1981 Land Rover was Mot'd last May, they didn't even attach the gas analyser as far as I am aware...
Perhaps just a visible smoke test is all they do? |

For 1963 it will be visible smoke only. It would be good to find a garage that is used to dealing with older vehicles as it may need a Tapley type brake test rather than rolling road etc......
What is the truck in question? Some post 1960 trucks are MOT exempt if they fit in to the correct categories.
Cheers

Yes, only visible smoke test. The rest of the test will still be quite strict. When I take my Karrier Bantam she has a full test, rolling road for brakes etc, full checks for play in steering and leaks etc.
What's the lorry? _________________ Various Rootes Vehicles. |
