Soon...I shall be attempting to mount two Solex 26FV carbs onto a Hotchkiss aircooled V twin. Am I correct in thinking that if the float chamber is below the level of the fuel tank I will not need a fuel pump? ? ?
More questions to follow...

Is the tank outlet on the bottom or top of the tank?
Because you may have to create a syphon.
If the outlet is on the bottom then no you shouldn't need a pump.

In principle the answer is yes! Fit a shut off tap to the tank though! |

The fuel rmerges from the bottom of the tank, there is already a valve fitted to the tank.
