Also, a 'very nice' rolling project?
I once owned/ran a SUper Minx estate...very stout car indeed..metal a lot thicker than today's motos!! {As a school teacher found out when she rear-quartered me one day.......I never did pull out the slight rear quarter dent....I tried, but it wasn't easy]
I ran this car as a daily driver [banger is how I would have described it, at the time]....for about a year.....comfortable, but couldn't be 'hustled'...a bit of a barge, handling-wise. Economy hadn't been heard of at Rootes, I thought...certainly fuel consumption was in the low 20's. [1725 engine]
A nice, heavy car....maybe not so good as a daily driver [for a pensioner to run?]...there are much lighter estates of similar age out there. |
