British stock car, circa 1965: grille is from a -----?

The driver had a 437 cu.in. Buick with a hot cam. It did the job!

The grill looks like something from the mid 1930s except that most cars of that period had much taller radiators. I suspect that it has been shortened to fit the stock car and so looking for a mass produced item will not reveal anything.

I think the earlier suggestion of a Delahaye 135 grill shortened to fit will be the most likely solution.

Yes, it's from a 1937 Delahaye saloon: bonnet, sides and grille, but (typically) someone has nicked the nice enamel badge from its plate.

BTW: I clumsily posted this (I think) in two forums, so no doubt you refer to "the other" posting. Cheers.
