Morning folks,
As regulars will know, the image archive for original old motoring photos on the main site, is one of the most important - and oft visited - sections on OCC (after the forum, obviously!). Many images are from my own collection, and a healthy percentage are from visitors to the site, who've emailed over scans of old photos from their albums. A number of forum-ers have also done the same over the years (you know who you are, thanks once again).
If anyone has any old photos that they'd be willing to see featured in the image archive - always credited to the source - I'd love to hear from you, along with any back story that goes with the scene(s) portrayed. These should be old photos that you own, not copies of pictures downloaded from the 'net. Scans emailed to dodgenut@4onthefloor.co.uk would be very much appreciated, as I know that lots of people do enjoy looking at these old images.
Photos from the 1900s through to the 1970s welcomed!
Thanks all,
RJ

That steam lorry picture is lovely, early working commercial pictures are quite sought after these days. _________________ Various Rootes Vehicles. |

It seems the man in the last picture is actually leaning against the door of the Rover. Which is held by only a leather strap (I think?).
And what piece of cloth has been trapped by the Vauxhall door?

That happened to a friend or should I say his wife, they were having a bit of a ding dong (just words) and she got out of the car wearing a nice light summer dress in a hurry, by the time she got to the back of the car she was in her underwear. Needless to say they are no longer together....... _________________ Paul

I have quite a few old photos from my grandparents and parents so I will find them out and scan some. _________________ Various Rootes Vehicles. |
