Does anyone know what wing/door mirrors a 1968 Daimler V8 250 has? |

Hi
Judging by the number of pictures (Google search for images) without wing or door mirrors, I would guess it was whatever you want to use.
Door mirrors wouldn't be "in period" unless they are clip on ones. _________________ Bristols should always come in pairs.

I think it all depends on their location, I find them very handy when driving the Moggy for instance, they give a good rear view without having to actually move my head to peer over to a door mirror. The A40 was the same. But on some cars they can be too low to be of much use, agreed.
Where a car has nice lines to the front wings, it can ruin their appearance by bolting mirrors half way along them. This might be the case with the Daimler/Mk2.

I like cars with wing mirrors. Even if they are a tad more impractical. It enhances the 50s / 60s look so much. In my opinion it is wrong to put a door mirror on a 50s / 60s car.
Back in the days very few had door mounted mirrors. The Daimler, as most other cars, likely would not have an outside mirror as standard fitment by the factory. These were fitted by the garage. _________________ a car stops being fun when it becomes an investment |

In my experience, a wing mirror that gives a worthwhile rear view is generally of more use to the idiot night time tailgater who wants to dazzle you and run you off the road. For a long time I tied carrier bags over them at night, then I thought of a bodge to cover the inevitable holes in the wing tops and simply removed them - I haven't regretted it once. |
