|
|
So, I was having a look at ebay earlier and saw a nice Mark 1 Austin Ruby, start bid £1. Put it on my watch list and out of interest thought I'd have a look at the sellers other items.
I was very surprised to see list over 1300 vehicles!! I am sure this must be a scam of some kind. Looking at the phots of cars its almost like they are pulling them straight from search engines or similar.
Scam or not Scam?? _________________ Various Rootes Vehicles. |

I have just reported one to e-bay, an Hillman Aero Minx. I had a look and the picture they use is on google images. This same car crops up most days and if you then go onto classic cars for sale there are dozens more - all very rare and pristine with low start price or ridiculously low ‘buy it now’ _________________ Hillman minx convertible. This character appears on Ebay every so often but his listings are so obviously fraudulent it's difficult to believe that anyone could be duped by him. I (and others) have been reporting him for what seems like years but he bounces back every time. _________________ David

Fleabay need to get their house in order, far too many dodgy characters on there and nothing ever seems to get done. |

Its not really eBay's fault, these scammers hack other eBay members accounts , hence they ask to be contacted outside of the eBay system.
The accounts that get hacked generally have weak passwords, or passwords that haven't been changed in months, or people who use the same password for different accounts and its been cracked elsewhere.

So what happens if you bid and win one of these vehicles?
I presume nothing apart from them fleecing you if you give any payment or personal details? _________________ Various Rootes Vehicles. |

I've reported this guy for many of his listing. It's a useless waste of time. Even if eBay take notice, next day he's back again.
These sort of people need exterminating.

All it takes is one person not to realise and check out the seller to win and pay a deposit. I have seen on a few Facebook pages that people are bidding for a joke as eBay do nothing _________________ 1968 Volvo Amazon estate (Gracie)
