I am going over to using the below.
https://hobbyweld.co.uk/product-category/mig-tig-welding/
I have a reasonably local agent...once the bottle is paid for [at stat up] then it's only the gas to find pensionquids for.
I used to have an Energas contract....used to cost me 15 earned-quids a quarter, gas costs on top...but they would deliver if I was desperate...but...my mig gas usage was sporadic, to say the least....
Sometimes I'd go almost 12 months before striking an arc....so the Energas contract was a luxury I decided not to afford.
I use the bigger bottles, my machine won't use tiny bottles... _________________ Dellow Mk2, 1951 built, reg 1952.

I have the Hobbyweld bottle, in fact I've been today to pick up a replacement after I emptied one, £46-odd for a refill. PET in Crewe do it, probably someone in Whitchurch too.
As above, there's no hire charge, just a one-off deposit plus the charge for each now bottle. I hired one from BOC for years, at least ten of those while I wasn't using the MIG at all, I shudder to think how much I wasted on bottle rental but the rent-free options weren't around then. The only other option was pub gas bottles, and that tends to be pure CO2 which isn't as good. |

I too use PET in Crewe, far cheaper for us low user's than BOC was with the annual hire charge. |
