Hi all,
The other day I decided to give the Anglia a gearbox oil change, what was in there didn't look toooooo bad but I wasn't quite sure what grade or type of oil it was, so decided to err on the side of caution.
There was then a good excuse to take it out for a spin.
The key points from this pleasant day are now here: https://youtu.be/4WkNuW2YRsE I also describe the "new owner" notes as presented to purchasers of these old Fords, back in the day, plus have a quick word about the recent Minor vid and also seek help in identifying an old car badge.

Hillman went through a phase of winged hexagons for a while.

If that Anglia is still around Jones Towers in a few years time I suspect Harley will be passing his test in it. Loved the Shell oil change reminder that is still valid.

Hi
Unfortunately the minimum requirements for a car on a driving test include seat belts and seats with built in head restraints.
So unless it gets modernised he won't be able to do as Peter suggests.
Of course there might, by then, be further "enhancements" required. _________________ Bristols should always come in pairs.

Ah! I didn't know that. I suppose I should have realised it is for the safety of the examiner propelled by an inexperienced driver.

I didn't know that either. What ever happened to personal choice? In the past, if the examiner took a dislike to the vehicle, they simply refused to get in it. |

The real kick in the guts is when you have spent hundreds of hours restoring a car and someone asks "are you going to restore it?"

Rick: Are you on any movie/tv lists for vehicles ? There always seems to be a lot of "immaculate" versions on screen. Perhaps for a Tom Cruise movie in the future ? |
