Being 1939 its a rare E83W, then add to that its the shooting brake body and its even rarer.

Being very rare though does not mean that in a condition like this it is still worth thousands.

Someone out there would save this, lets face it we have all seen worse restored but it has to be at a price that makes it saveable, not prohibitive.

Agreed it's definitely an early one, I've seen very few with the one starter handle hole on the grille (although I thought early E83Ws also had the ring pull bonnet catches, maybe not). The headlamps are more like from the 1950s vans etc but the floor mounted handbrake is definitely early.

Now, is that an Escort or a Squire, and what is the woodie at the next tent?

It was the Escort. Pale Blue. Yes a "Woodie" but back in the day such vehicles were more common place and attracted little attention.

Looks like an Austin to the right, solid wheels suggest it was based on a commercial chassis (van perhaps) rather than a car

I agree, Rick; the 'short' door also points to commercial origins.
