Anyone have any big plans of work or projects to undertake now the nights are drawing in and getting in ready for next summer?

Having done a motorway trip in the Sportshatch in July, I am determined this winter to fit the overdrive gearbox in an attempt to try to decrease the noise. I'll also be looking at various sound deadening options to help further.

Having now cleared the decks a tad, I hope to move the A40 along a little.

As I get nearer to finishing the TC panels I should be able to finally fit them and get on with the interior trim. I have a new seat and trim panels that couldn't safely be fitted until the paint was done.

When the interior is in I should be able to connect up the dashboard and finish the wiring. When the petrol tank is connected and the ignition tested I should be able to start the engine.

One other winter project is to fit the new hood to the refurbished frame. The side screens also need to be made up with carefully mitred chrome beading.

Lots of small jobs to do like the horn, the indicators and lights and the fog lamp; not to mention door and bonnet handles .

What about you, now that you have "finished" the Commer?
Finished in quotes because such a large vehicle is never 100% finished I think.

Well, I have to sort the cooling issues out on the Commer and also finish painting some of the decals, they are just jobs that will continue, not too major though.

We do have the engine out of our 1955 Minx, I have all new bearings, gaskets and pistons/rings so the plan is over the winter months to rebuild that and get it refitted.

Lots of things to do!

One of the cars that need attention would be the Range Rover. This car will be tax free from February onwards. This means it is usable once more - I did not want to pay ?200 road tax per month (!) which is why I had it locked up in the shed for 10 years. It had not been driven in those years so I expect a couple of things to inspect/renew and maybe repair. Rubbers (water and brake hoses, tyres, wipers), the AC needs to be filled, renew brake fluid, new engine oil, check transmission and axle fluids.
The Range Rover is a 1984 three door I bought 14 years ago. Over the years its French owner had fitted electric windows and an air con system, and recovered the seats with leather. The fuel injected engine was rebuilt and a 4 speed ZF auto transmission with lockup fitted. His company needed money so I was able to buy it quite cheap - had to get it from Normandy (F) though. I fitted LPG with an underfloor tank.

Did you keep getting the Debug warning?
Just delete the repeats.

Yes - some weird blabla. I did not think my posting worked so tried again - and again. And I cannot delete the repeats.

I didn't realise that the delete function has disappeared.

If you get that Debug message do a back button so that you can just get a ctrl/c on the text in case. then click on the first part of the address above the reply box. Then you will probably see that the thread you have just contributed to has a new post. Click on that and if it is YOUR post you know it has loaded alright.

EDIT: it just happened to me posting the above.

The 2CV recently passed the MOT so I decided to treat it to a brand new set of Michelin road wheels. The ones fitted were close on 20-years-old and 7-years in the Shetland Islands had caused much corrosion. It's cheaper to replace with new than get them refurbed. I'll be getting the clutch replaced over the winter. The original lasted 250,000 miles but the replacement is knackered after less than 30,000 (we think it's the pressure plate that's faulty).

And another thing we are currently starting now all the shows are finished, we are having a really thorough clean up of our shed and the parking areas we have in front of it in the yard. Space for two vehicles is currently taken up by a huge invasion of bramble bushes, alder trees etc....
