Come on Scotty - It would have been a real quiz if you had at least chosen one that wasn't on this quite well known website.

Hi

I haven't got any teasers, sorry!

But I do like the look of that car, do you have any more info pictures on it? Is that at the museum?

A friend has a rook of vintage stuff, really nice and so interesting!

I have quite a few reference books concearing vintage automobiles!

Cheers

Dave

Hi Dave,

The Arrol Johnston you see here was part of a Centenary Run organised by the AJ club that visited Glasgow in 2002.

I can direct you to an album created with more vehicle photographs of the day, the only difficulty is you have to register with the web site to see them - ImageStation.com
If you're willing to register with them, it won't cost you anything, then look for the albums created by MacHaverings, you'll get to see this album and other albums posted over the last few years.

And that invitation is of course open to anybody who would like to browse through them - you're all welcome. Very Happy

Phanomobil, and it's the one here Wink :
http://ned.ronet.ru/0/Autosalon10.htm
Fascinating site, it's in Russian, but there are lots of photos there; some really weird and wonderful cars, but also some choice Bristols and a Saab 92 lurking somewhere in there Smile

Absolutely correct Alfanut.

I thought it might take longer to find that obscure site - but then I should have known that members of this forum have scoured the net for anything to do with old cars!

Will try harder next time.

Sorry Brian, but one of things about not having a fleet of classics in various stages of restoration(at the moment Sad ) is that at least it allows time to find out obscure sites. I think I got the link from a site that lists dozens of European sites. I can't find that one at present, but if I do I will post it here Smile

Rightyo

Here are 3 more puzzlers picked from my albums of olde photos.....see what you make of these Smile

First up, a few images of a strange looking (1920s?) tourer, can anyone id that grille at least??

Next, a 30s saloon, the grille makes me think Armstrong-Siddeley or Humber, am I close???

And finally for now, this tattered pic showing a daring gent perched on the bonnet of his ???????? the grille reminds me of a Singer, or Lanchester maybe?

All clues welcomed as I don't know the answers either Laughing

I've had a little wander around one or two old car sites, and I think I may have found no 3. It looks like a 1934 Singer Eleven, a model I must confess I'd never even heard of:

I haven't a clue for the others though. The sports car sems to have a Rolls-Royce type radiator. That must have caused some trouble at the time, perhaps there's a lead there. The driver also looks as if he is smoking a pipe Shocked That should be interesting at say 40mph

Come on Rick - give us a chance to do some research!

I agree with AlfaNut, number 3 is a Singer 9. I had to go to page 629 of Georgano to find it!

My first thought on number 1 was a Trojan but I can't find any pictures with a grille that matches. So I am still looking for other 20's/30's cars that used the same disc wheels.

No idea (so far) on number 2 - I am leaning towards it being an American but not sure
