I've a few photos of this car, at first I assumed it was a Riley 9 Monaco but now I'm wondering if it's a 9 Biarritz instead (split rear window etc)??

That's an interesting one! I agree, the split back window suggests Biarritz, but the Biarritz was only built 1931-32, so shouldn't have the knock-on wheels (1934 on) and the three letter registration also suggests 1933/34 onwards. Also the Biarritz had plain bonnet sides (no louvres). Do you have a view from the front? The Biarritz had a alligator bonnet top hinged at the rear, so there would be no centre hinge line visible.

I wonder if there could have been an interim model using the Biaritz split rearscreen and passenger compartment and the Monaco front end.
