Pa Cresta touched on this a while ago, but nobody picked up on it.
I wonder if most people restoring a car have a longer pause in the work, or do most people just start and work as many hours as they can until its finished.
If its the first, any ideas why?

Ditto the above except that I have 'pauses' in everything I do!
It's not unusual for me to start three different jobs on one day then become distracted/bored or tired and wander off and do something else!
Mrs Nail is up on the ceiling with me most times, I must admit that I must be frustrating to live with but I seem to have a wandering mind and tend to need different stimuli to keep me going.
I am told that I could make a lot of money in either Art or journalism if I was prepared to actually sit down and put the work in.... er...I'll just go and check the steering on my Somerset. |

He he
I used to like sticking with one job until it is finished, doing as much time as posible! But recently I keep getting distracted by finding new purchases! I think it is good to wander a little, so you do keep interest in the project, though when you are on the home straight I do tend to look forward to it being finished and get it done, if that means not working for a week or two so be it, much to my parents dismay!
I call it dedication my parents call it stupidity!
Cheers

I suppose I had better answer this one as well, after all, I posted it.
I usually have several things going at once, What I try to do is order parts for one, whilst working on another. The trouble is, this never seems to work due to the fear of my wallet moths starving..... so there tends to be 'stages' interrupted by commercial breaks....thats when I drive the Pickup....or attack the house!

After 11 years of ownership my pauses must add up to 10 years - and I've still not finished. |

Pauses are a must not just financially (usual case) but playing with toys , er indoors and weather , my favorite as all my jobs are outside , can't get down the drive to the garage . |

I heard a classic last night about someone on here. Said it was too cold to do any work outside on his car. |

Well we do need our passports to cross the border to get into Norfolk these days! Makes going to our pub meets with the Humber club fun! |

Yes i must say i found the experience worrying This has been my first big resto job so i diden't really know what to expect. I had about 12 months (in total) during a 3 year period where i just coulden't settle to doing anything related to the project. Now towards the end of the project i can't wait to get down to the garage |
